Los Altos Senior Center

Feb. 14: 1 p.m., movie, "Fly Away Home," starring Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin. A young girl raises Canadian geese from an abandoned nest. Shown in Room 11.

Feb. 21: Noon, 20th annual general membership meeting and luncheon. Nominations for the Senior Board and luncheon. Admission is $3 with activity card and $6 without.

Feb. 26: 10:30 a.m., a 60-minute workshop involving the learning process and problem solving. Held in Room 12.

Feb. 28: 1 p.m., February birthday-bingo party. An afternoon of bingo, singalong, and birthday cake held in Room 11. The program is sponsored by the Los Altos Sunset Rotary.

Note: Free income tax assistance at the senior center by AARP on Mondays until April 14. 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Mountain View Senior Center

The Los Altos Senior Center is located at the Hillview Community Center 97 Hillview Ave in Los Altos. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information call 948-7483

The Mountain View Senior Center is located at 266 Ave., Mountain View. For more information, call 903-6330. Following is a list of special events for the month.

Feb. 9: 2 p.m., photographer Dr. Tom Hahn will present a slide presentation of river rafting in Alaska. Admission is 50 cents.

Feb. 12: 3:30 p.m., love is in the air with Crittenden School students expressing Valentine feelings using words and art for Valentine's Day crafts.

Feb. 13: 10:30 a.m., bridge players are welcome to attend a bridge social.

Feb. 16: 2 p.m., Valentine dance with the Musical Commodores. Admission is $3.

Feb. 26: 10 a.m., Senior Coordinating Council will take nominations for new officers.

Note: Fifteen card tables were recently donated by the Mountain View Travelers Group.
